A popular tourist attraction spot for both foreigners and locals in Malaysia is the Underwater World Langkawi which houses over 5000 fishes and other marine life. Started on August 26, 1995, Underwater World Langkawi has become Malaysia largest aquarium and one of the largest marine and fresh water aquaria in South East Asia. Its massive 15-meter long walk-through tunnel, which contains 500,000 liter seawater, holds big fishes and sea creatures like different species of sharks, stingrays and even the Giant Green Turtle. One can also check out the Freshwater Fish section, the Seashell display, the Coral Reef section, and other several attractions. Underwater World Langkawi also has a dry seafood center, a gift shop and merchandise center, Neptune Café and Zon Shopping Paradise. The Underwater World Langkawi is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Any travelling food lover must, at some point in his traveling exploits, experience Kuala Lumpur’s famous gastronomic havens. Kuala Lumpur, or KL for short, is the capital and the largest city of Malaysia and boasts of a wide range of specialty cuisines ranging from Indian, Chinese to Malay. When one decides to explore these gastronomical feasts, he or she should not forget to drop by KL’s largest “Little India”, Brickfields, which offers one of the best breakfasts a traveler in Malaysia can ever have. Situated just outside central KL, Brickfields is a quaint, little neighborhood with residents being mostly Indians (hence, the tag). A common favorite is the Roti Canai which is like a flat croissant served as an appetizer together with curry. Other must-tries while in KL are the pan meen (board noodles) and the Kuih (cakes and pastries).

Located in the Celebes Sea about 35 kilometers off the coast of East Malaysia on the island of Borneo, Sipadan is dubbed as the best diving spot in Malaysia and is one of the best there is in the world. It is the only oceanic island in Malaysia and is accentuated from the surrounding aqua-blue sea by its white sand beaches. Since it has become the Holy Grail among diving enthusiasts, only 80 divers can be permitted to stay per night. This move was made to ensure that marine and reef life in Sipadan will be secured. That is why it is highly recommended for tourists to book several weeks or months in advance since the island is always fully booked.
